Africville is a feature film about the disappearance of a small black settlement on the southern shores of Nova Scotia, descendants of freed American Slaves. Set in 1965, the gripping coming of age tale follows seventeen-year-old William Collins as his community faces “Urban Renewal” - a government-approved program designed to improve racial integration. When residents of Africville are forced into relocation and demolition threatens their livelihood, William emerges as the unlikely leader of a powerful rebellion to save his home.
